Copenhagen
10 – 12 June 2026
The Geography of Japanese Making
Materials, Regions and Craftsmanship
On the occasion of 3daysofdesign 2026 in Copenhagen, Denmark, Time & Style presents a comprehensive exhibition exploring the deep roots of Japanese regional craftsmanship and its translation into contemporary form.
From June 10 to 12, the brand will occupy over 1,200 square meters in the bay-area setting of Nordhavn, Copenhagen, presenting in one place the full breadth of furniture, lighting, and accessories it has developed and crafted over more than 30 years.
Every object in the collection is conceived as a physical embodiment of Japanese regional craftsmanship—techniques and processes rooted in specific communities, reflecting the essential relationship between material, method, and place. Why was a particular material chosen? What made a certain method necessary? The answers are found in the inherent logic shaped by each region’s climate, history, and cultural identity.
By visiting workshops throughout Japan and learning directly from artisans, Time & Style seeks to draw out the knowledge and dedication once passed down through generations, and to carry the diverse, deep-rooted artisanal practices still alive in the remotest corners of Japan into the future.

To coincide with the exhibition, Time & Style will also unveil a nearly 1,000-page volume documenting its complete body of work. Alongside photographs of every object—from accessories and lighting to furniture—the book explores the cultural and historical background of each of the pieces, the traditional crafts that shape them, and the varying regional identities found throughout Japan. This is a comprehensive reference work that reveals the essence of Japanese craftsmanship.
